This is a GREAT Autumnal drink… probably one of our most popular signature cocktails for our fall weddings and events… and with good reason… It’s DELICIOUS!
The Bourbon and apple go great with that hint of ginger spice.
There are some cocktails that actually get better as you drink them and in my opinion, this is one of them.
The reason is because as the ice melts it kinda smooths everything out, reducing the intensity of bourbon, cutting the sweetness and toning down the ginger. Don’t get me wrong, it’s delicious from the start, but this cocktail definitely changes around slurp #3, and for me it changes for the better.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!
Ingredients:
2 oz Bulleit Bourbon
1 1/2 oz Fresh Apple Juice (Simply Apple works if you don’t have a hard juicer)
3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
3/4 oz Ginger Simple Syrup
Lemon wheel for garnish
Process:
1. Add bourbon, apple juice, lemon juice and ginger simple syrup into shaker. Add ice. Shake.
2. Strain into glass of fresh ice.
3. Garnish with lemon wheel
To make your ginger simple syrup, juice ginger using a hard juicer. Then add 1 part ginger juice to 3 parts simple syrup. To make your base simple syrup, lightly simmer (for only 1-2 minutes until sugar is dissolved) 1 part water, 1 part sugar.
